If we are building a site for a client we use a specific methodology which combines the flexibility of bespoke design along with a structured open source content management. This results in the creation of a well designed website that can be fully maintained by the client. It will be simple to add / delete pages to the site, edit text and images and amend product files to introduce new items or change prices. The package we provide will include a comprehensive training program.
We are happy to develop a customer’s website, provide them with the necessary training and let them take full control from day one. We can also offer an ongoing promotion package tailored to our client’s business and products. Implementing a package means we regularly review the website to ensure it is operating at peak performance and we make subtle changes that may attract more customers, generate more sales and increase the site’s functionality.
When we provide a quotation for the provision of a new website we generally offer our customers (1) a price for the site build and training program and (2) a price for an optional ongoing promotion package tailored to the business and products.
Clients make their own mind up whether or not they want an ongoing promotion package, but what is important as far as they are concerned is the fact that, whatever they decide, they are always in full control of the day to day running of their website.
Once the agreed period for operating the promotion package has come to an end the client can judge for themselves the extent to which our involvement has helped improve the performance of their business. They can then opt to extend the package or take full control of the site themselves.
We are confident in our ability to deliver better business performance via our customers’ websites and we regard a promotion package as being very beneficial and highly cost effective for the vast majority of the businesses we deal with.
When we submit a proposal the steps involved are generally as follows:-
- Arrange a consultation meeting where we can discuss the business’s website requirements and verify whether or not the service we can offer is in fact the best solution for the client’s needs.
- If we feel we can provide a service that will enhance business performance (from an Online perspective), gather data that clearly defines what the client is hoping to achieve.
- Investigate how the client would like the site to function and establish the number of individual sections they would like to have within the site. Find out if there are any design elements (e.g. logo’s, colour schemes, etc.) they would like incorporated into the layout.
- Submit an outline proposal document with quotations for (1) the site build + training and (2) a ongoing promotion package.
- Once a quotation has been accepted proceed with the design outline. Keep in regular contact with the client as the work progresses.
- When the website has been created and fully tested carry out client training (this will include the provision of video tutorials).
- If the client has requested a promotion package monitor the sites usage once every 4 weeks. Establish what minor changes are required to improve performance and brief the client on our findings. Alter the site’s functionality accordingly.
- At the end of promotion package offer the client the option of extending the package.
